The
Sudan Project is a cooperative effort between the
congregation and friends of Ginghamsburg Church, the
displaced persons of the Darfur region in Sudan, and the
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). One
hundred percent of all funds given to The Sudan Project
directly benefit the intended recipients, the displaced
persons living in Darfur. Over the last two years (3
Christmas Seasons), Ginghamsburg Church has provided
$1.8 million to benefit the people of Darfur. This
effort to date has provided the tools, seed, and
training to feed over 65,000 children, women, and men;
90 schools and 190 teachers providing education and a
lunch to nearly 15,000 students daily; and clean
drinking water for nearly 250,000 people and their
livestock. All of this has been accomplished in what
many consider to be a death zone. There is always hope
where God’s people determine to make a difference. Are
you interested in becoming a part of this miracle
effort?

Operation
Hero Miles was created in October, 2003. When
started, the program allowed troops stationed in Iraq or
Afghanistan to fly home on leave for free. It now gives
family members of wounded servicemen and women free
plane tickets to visit their loved ones recovering at
military hospitals across the country. Operation Hero
Miles gives ordinary citizens an opportunity to help our
troops in a very direct way that makes a real difference
in their lives. |
Homes
for Our Troops is a non-partisan, non-profit 501
(c)(3) organization that provides specially adapted
homes for severely wounded service members of our
military. Through our growing network of donations from
building contractors, suppliers, corporate supporters
and local volunteers, we are able to provide our
assistance at no cost to the veterans that we serve. |
